Lakehouse Love

I used another great PageMaps sketch for this layout, along with Apron String's 5-on-Friday. It felt awkward to use patterned paper instead of my typical cardstock base... but now that I see the final result, I guess going back to your roots once in a while can be like welcoming an old friend.

Santa's Little Helper

I did this layout for a challenge at . The bingo card was made with my friend's Sizzix, which I added chalk ink to. Love it... don't know why I haven't gotten one of my own yet... maybe I should put it on my OWN Santa list?

Apple Delight

I stretched a sketch to 2-pager for this Croptoberfest Day 11 challenge at http://www.apronstringsdesigns.blogspot.com/. I still need to add my journalling...

Fun on the Farm

For the Croptoberfest Day 10 challenge at http://www.apronstringsdesigns.blogspot.com/, to try a new technique, I decided to make a custom 3-dimensional embellishment using wet cardstock. For the husks of the cornstalk, I cut leaf shapes out of white-core cardstock and soaked themm in water. I wrinkled them and squeezed the excess water out and then molded them into shape to dry. The white core helped to enhance the edges, as they begin to peel away into layers. The corn cob inside the husks I made by stamping the eraser-end of a pencil in chalk ink and stamping individual ears of corn. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Celebrating 4th of july

I did this layout for a sketch challenge at www.pagemaps.blogspot.com... I took the original sketch and stretched it a 2-pager and I love the way it turned out. Probablly one of my favorite layouts in a couple months.

I did this layout based on a sketch (10-20-10) from http://letsscrap.ning.com/. It was only a single-page sketch, but I stretched it to a 2-pager.

Fiesta

Apple Pie

It took about 3x as long as it should have because she insisted on doing everything by herself, but she was so proud... and it was delicious!

our little MVP

Finally scrapped some Halloween 2005 pics, when Taylor was a Florida Gator cheerleader. I procrastinated scrapping these for so long because of the colors, but it turned out OK.

-1 sheet of orange or green cardstock (I used another sheet to make it a 2-pager)
-1 sheet of pattern paper with stripes or plaid on one side
(the red is the opposite side)
-1 set of felt or fabric embellishments
-1 set of naked chipboard
-1 set of something round

Hello Second Grade

For the Croptoberfest Wednesday sketch challenge at Apron Strings, that I stretched to a 2-pager. I can't believe my baby is in Second Grade already! It makes me sad that she's not my "little" girl anymore, especially when she couldn't be happier about it! :(

Goggles

For the Croptoberfest Monday 10/11 challenge at Apron Strings, to find a "hard to be thrilled by" old layout and be inspired by it. I did the ice cream layout a while back, when I wanted to use a large shaped patterned paper as a background on a page. It was awkward to turn into 2 pages though and it felt off-balance to me, and not really tied together as a double page layout. So for the Goggles layout, I used a shaped patterned paper background again, but with more of a running bond to tie the 2 pages together.
